Some things have been lost here that will never be found, some shadows have set with the sun. If I find I am alive still and yet, I’ll ask myself what I want to become. I’ll ask to be washed by some wonderment that is both new, and who I was all along. As my body ebbs and lessens, I’ll ask to see what beauty emerges from the waves as they recede. As my being coalesces, I’ll ask to find myself closer to you on that shore of our wonder and of our grief.
